Winter holidays with the family

Hintertux adventure world

More than just skiing

Looking out over the edge of the slopes, the Tuxertal, indeed the entire holiday region of the Zillertal, has a range of beautiful and exciting things to offer. We’ll reveal popular destinations and winter activities for the whole family.

In winter, there is a varied leisure programme in the Tuxertal with exhibition visits, skiing and cross-country skiing courses, hut evenings, après-ski and live music and much more, organised by the Tux-Finkenberg tourist association.

Winter hiking & cross-country skiing

Off the slopes

68 km of winter hiking trails run from Nennerhof into the holiday region of Tux-Finkenberg. The well-chosen and regularly maintained routes pass through typical Tyrolean, often deeply snow-covered, mountain landscapes to rustic huts and sunny panoramas. Peaceful breathers included. Idyllic and eventful exploration of the Tuxertal is especially possible with cross-country skiing. Discover the Tuxertal trails with the whole family.

Time for the family

From the Nennerhof, you can walk or sledge to the traditional Bichlalm in Hintertux within 45 minutes. The sledging track is lit up in the evening and is legendary for sociable nightsledging. Beautiful routes can also be found in Juns or Lanersbach, where you can hike up to the Höllensteinhütte or Grieralm and, strengthened with a meal of typical Zillertal specialities, sledge back down into the valley. It’s also lit up in the evening.

There is always a variety of leisure activities, such as a children’s carousel, ice skating rink, play arena and much more.

Winter hiking tip from the hosts

Take the glacier bus up to the Sommerbergalm. There, you can take one of the marked paths at the high alpine mountains that leads comfortably and steadily downhill to Hintertux. Or, you can walk from the Nennerhof to the Bichlalm or out of the valley to Madseit and on to Lanersbach.
